11/1/2018 0 Comments Creative storytellingLast week I had the opportunity to spend two days with our district's AppleEDU representative and do training on their Elements of Learning and Everyone Can Create resources. Over the two days we used these resources and Apple apps to complete creative writing tasks. The best part was that we were able to share our writing in very creative ways! For our first task we were asked to write Six-Word Stories. We used a Numbers document for project management, brainstorming, curating resources, giving and getting peer feedback, and reflecting on our work. Having all of the pieces of my project in one place made it so much easier for me to understand the task and stay organized. On the second day we had to write and share a personal narrative with Keynote. We used the drawing and animation features within Keynote to make a line drawing illustration for our story. The maximum length for animations in Keynote are 60 seconds. The drawing and the one minute time limit really made me think about my story elements and the most important details of my story to include and still get my message across. While both of our tasks during training were based around creative writing, these workflows and tools can be used in any content area. I would love to partner with you to see how we can incorporate these create processes into your lessons!
